Is any registration required to be a 2shared user?

2shared provide you with free and easy-to-use services for storing, searching, and downloading files of different types. You are welcome to use and enjoy all of these services without registration.

How can I upload my files to 2shared?

You can easily upload any of your files by clicking on the button "Click Here to Upload Your File" that you can see on the top of every page. Chose the file you are going to upload and confirm your choice by clicking on the button "Upload it". As soon as your file has been uploaded to the 2shared server, you will be able to manage it by using some administration tools like downloading and deleting the file, editing its description, changing or adding publisher's name or email, and protecting your file with your password.

How can I protect my file with a password?

If you do not want to allow all 2shared users to download your uploaded file, you can protect it with a password. Right after uploading your file, you will see a link forwarding you to the administration page. Also, you can get there by clicking on the "Go to Administration Page" button. As the owner of the uploaded file you should fill in the "Add download password" field with any secure password that people you are going to share this protected file with will use for accessing and downloading it. Provide your visitors with the password and the link that you can copy from the field "Download link" on the Administration page.

How can I delete an uploaded file?

You can do it on the Administration page. To get there you should follow the Administration link that you get right after uploading your file has been completed. Simply click on the button "Delete File" to remove the file from the 2shared server.

Where can I add and edit description to my file?

The Administration page is the correct place where you can do that. Follow the link you get shortly after uploading the file and fill in the field "Edit file description". If you do not want to add any description, clean the field up. To save the changes you have done click on the "Save" button.

Can I add a publisher's name?

Yes, you can do it on the Administration page. To get there, follow the link you obtain after file uploading has been completed. In the field "Add publisher name or e-mail" you should enter your name (nickname) or your contact e-mail address.

Administration link - important!

Once your file is uploaded you will be provided with administration link. Please note that in order to be able to manage (rename/delete) the file in future you have to save your admin link right away after uploading! Otherwise no changes to the file will be possible and the only way to delete it will be writing us a request on this matter.

How can I share my files with others?

As soon as you upload your file to 2shared, it is available for all 2shared users (if you have not protected it with a password) who can see and download it. If you want to invite other people to see your file you should provide them with a shared link, which you get from the "Here is your download link" field every time after a new file has been uploaded. Also you can copy this link from your Administration page (to get there click on the "Go to Administration Page" button that you can see after uploading a file). You should copy the link and e-mail it to a person you would like to share the file with.

If you wish your file to be available for downloading for certain people only, you have to protect it by password.

Who can see my uploaded files?

Any uploaded file can be seen and downloaded by all users of 2shared by using search or browse services. However, if you do not want to allow others to download your uploaded file you can protect it with a password. In this case, other people will be able just to see but not download the file. To invite particular users to download the protected file you should provide them with the password together with the unique access link.

Can I add my file to a particular 2shared category (photo, music, video, etc.) when uploading it?

You have no need to classify your files by yourself. 2shared system does it for you every time when you upload a new file by defining its category and adding your file to the appropriate category on 2shared storage.

How can I find a file I am interested in?

There are several ways to achieve your goal. Firstly, try to use the Search option that will be available for you as soon as you click on the "Search" button on the left top corner of any 2shared page. Simply enter the search field of the following information: the name (or just a part of it) of a file you are looking for, file's type, or a word from file's description. Click to the "Search" button next to the search field to continue your request. To specify your inquiry use the "Advanced Search" link.

In addition you can use the Browse option to find the file. To open the Browse page, click on the "Browse" button on the left top corner of any 2shared page. From the drop-down box select the category of the file you are looking for.

How can I download a file from 2shared?

If you have found the file you are interested in, in the Search or Browse lists, click on the blue arrow with the hint "Download" opposite the file name. If the file is not protected by a password you can easily download it by clicking on the Download button. If the file is protected by a password and you know it, you should enter the password into the appropriate form to be able to access the file. If you do not know the password, you will not be able to download the file.

Can I see which files are being downloaded right now?

Yes, 2shared is glad to offer you such a service. Click on the "Watch" button in the left top corner of any 2shared page to open the Watch page. There you can see the list of files that are currently being downloaded from 2shared (if there are any at the moment). You are able to sort the list by file name, size and category, by country where users are interested in the files. Also you can see how much percentage of each file have been downloaded.
